My First Painting Workshop

On the 13th November 2021 I held my first ever Workshop. It was a big deal for me, because I haven't been in the role of 'teacher' since I quit the teaching profession in 2016 (having suffered from burn out and stress), so I was quite apprehensive.

How lucky I was to have such a lovely group to work with. We all had a great time - in a bubble of creative concentration from 10.30 to 4.30, each of them producing something really special. Here's some of their words about the day:

"I just wanted to say what a great day I had. Every part of it was just right. From your guided teaching of your technique, the colour choice of paints, music to absorb and enhance the mood. Having a small group was perfect and you made us all feel welcome and relaxed."

"For me it was the perfect experience and as a complete novice it has left me feeling very inspired, given me knowledge and the confidence to have a go at experimenting further at home. It was possibly one of the most liberating and absorbing things I've done for ages and I just couldn't believe where the time went."

"I really enjoyed everything about Saturday. Thank you so much. It was so lovely to just 'be'."

And here's some of their beautiful works of art.
